PygmalionAI was originally a small project ran by two guys that wanted to build open-source models inspired from the Character.AI model. Unfortunately, one of the original two left the project in 2023. It was a huge loss for us, but we recovered.

In July 2023, we incorporated as a company as PygmalionAI Inc. with three co-founders.

We three are committed to open-source development and advancing the state of AI for roleplaying, storytelling, and adventure capabilities. We pride ourselves on being bootstrapped.

PygmalionAI has many things planned from models to services and we aim to deliver on these with quality and care put into it
